BOTOX PRE AND POST TREATMENT TIPS
Botox has become the go-to cosmetic treatment for wrinkle reduction and anti-aging.
But did you know there are Botox pre and post-treatment tips your clients should follow to achieve the best results?
You are not a candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Don’t consume alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to your treatment as alcohol may think the blood and raise your risk of bruising.
Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood-thinning medications for a period of at least 2 weeks before treatment as they can raise the risk of bruising and swelling after injections.
Scheduled your Botox or Dermal Filler appointment at least 2 weeks prior to a special event you may be attending, such as a wedding or vacation, since the results can take up to 4-7 days to appear.
Discontinue Retin-A 2 days before and 2 days after your treatment.
Reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you have a rash, cold sore, or blemish on the treatment area.
Be sure to have a good breakfast, including food and drink, before your cosmetic treatment. This will decrease your chances of lightheadedness during the treatment.
You are not a suitable candidate if you’re breastfeeding or pregnant.
Avoid consuming large amounts of alcohol or salts to avoid excess swelling.
Don’t manipulate or massage the treated area for at least 3 hours after the treatment.
Don’t undergo facial/laser treatments or microdermabrasion after Botox injections for at least 10 days.
It can take approximately 4-7 days for results to be seen. If the desired appearance isn’t seen after 2 weeks, you may need additional Botox.
Don’t perform activities that involve straining, heavy lifting, or vigorous exercise for 6 hours after the treatment. This will keep the Botox in the injected area and not elsewhere.
Avoid extensive sun and heat for at least 72 hours after your treatment. Remember to wear sunblock (SPF 30 or higher) whenever you’re out in the sun.
